Our client is a has been designing and installing mechanical building services including heating, plumbing, ventilation and air conditioning systems for over 25 years. They have particular experience working within an engineering manufacturing environment and are looking for a talented Quality/Continuous Improvement Engineer to take responsibility for quality and process improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.

 

 

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Reporting to the Managing Director, you will have responsibility for reviewing quality procedures, identifying areas where improvements can be made both in process and in administration
  • Implement continuous improvement throughout the organisation
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing, quality and assembly issues using failure mode effect analysis (FMEA)
  • Define, refine and improve existing processes including ITP (Inspection and test plans)
  • Look at Product design for ease of manufacture/ assembly, capacity, efficiency and flow design, production processing, problem solving
  • Review new product design for manufacturability

  • You will need to be self-motivated with initiative
  • You will be flexible and forward thinking in your approach to problem solving and able to deliver results whilst juggling multiple tasks
  • You will have excellent analytical, organisation and communication skills and a real eye for detail
  • Strong organisation and time management skills

 

 

Required experience

 

  • Time served engineering apprenticeship (or equivalent)
  • Experience in mechanical assembly and factory processes
  • Demonstrable evidence of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience in best practice within engineering
  • Evidence of world class manufacturing techniques: 5S, Root Cause Analysis, Poka-yoke, Kaizen etc. Must be able to tailor knowledge to audience
  • Computer skills: requires proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to read Drawings
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels in the organisation
